On Saturday Feb 12, 2011 SBFD requested mutual aid from IHBVFD for a structure fire in Satellite Beach. Truck 56 and S-56 responded to the structure fire. Crews from IHB provided aerial support, a water supply, a RIT team, a Safety Officer, ground ladders, water cans with “Fire Ice”, and a Thermal Imaging Camera. Crews from SBFD, IHBVFD & BCFR were able to make a stop on the fire limiting the damage to the garage area.

1130 Seminole Drive – Trash & Fence Fire
This 10/25/10 fire appears to have started due to improperly discarded matches.
507 Inwood Lane, Brush fire in backyard.
This fire on 10/20/10 was caused by a palm frond falling on a power line. The palm frond caused the palm tree to catch fire and then fall to the ground igniting heavy pine straw debris on the ground. The fire burned up into the trees to about 20 feet.
118 Terry St. – Deck Fire
This 8/16/10 fire was caused by unattended grilling on a wooden deck. The resident was cooking meat in a smoker on his wooden deck. He was inside the residence when he saw the deck on fire. The deck was old and extremely dry. The smoker was old and the bottom rusted through allowing the hot coals to fall on the deck. The fire was stopped before it spread to the home. The deck, smoker and the meat were a total loss.
